About Us

Triasx is an internationally accredited supplier of technically complex radio frequency (RF) products.  We design and manufacture infrastructure equipment for use in all wireless telecommunication systems including cellular, PCS, 3G, HSPA, LTE and WLL, etc. operating at all recognised frequencies.

Our specialty is leading edge RF design and associated product manufacturing for the radio frequency domain between the output of the base station and the input of the antenna.  We call this the "Interconnect".  Increasingly, this is the area of evolving wireless systems that sets the overall network performance, particularly with the trend to co-siting and overlaying of multiple networks coupled with rapidly increasing data rates and network congestion. 

We were a pioneer in combining products to facilitate UMTS (3G) operation within existing GSM (2G) spectrum and also with a range of filter and receive amplifier based products dealing with WCDMA850 co-located with GSM900 services.  Today products combing 2G, 3G and even 4G services are delivered to customers around the world, in both active and passive configurations.

Another important innovation was the commercialization of portable instruments to measure passive intermodulation (PIM) at BTS and other sites.  We claim to have invented this technology and with over 1000 portable instruments currently in the field we have a demonstrated history of eliminating noise rise in cellular networks around the world.  Always the net effect is to improve the noise floor and to provide greater coverage and capacity from existing infrastructure. 

Our complete product portfolio includes combline and ceramic filters, same band (U900) and multiband combiners, tower mounted amplifiers, specialized filter based products and portable passive intermodulation measurement instruments. 

These products are designed with our own engineering team and altogether we offer skills in RF, software, firmware, microelectronic and mechanical design, all in house.  We support these with an extensive capability for product qualification and environmental ruggedness and we routinely qualify products using dedicated salt spray, electrical impulse (surge) and vibration facilities. 

Following the acquisition of Triasx by the Smiths Group in July 2008 we are now able to work closely with other leading brands in the Smiths companies including Summitek Instruments, Allrizon, Polyphaser and many others.  Together we have a global presence offering a range of leading products and capabilities relating to the mobile communications industry. 

Triasx has always been an award winning company with technology and export awards dating back to 1997.  In recent years Triasx has won three Queensland State Government Export Awards (2008 and 2009) and also in 2009 won an Australian International Design Award for the “Companion” hand held portable passive intermodulation instrument.  The design of this product continues to be revolutionary and was achieved with the assistance of an independent product design agency DesignWorks, based in Brisbane and headquartered in the United Kingdom.
